What is a hosted Internet phone system? (Virtual PBX)
The RingCentral virtual phone system is an affordable, instantly activated alternative to the high costs of buying and maintaining a hardware-based Private Branch Exchange (PBX) system. What is an auto-receptionist?
"Welcome to My Company. Push 1 for Sales, 2 for Service, 3 for company directory…"
The RingCentral auto-receptionist routes callers to appropriate employees and departments. Using interactive voice response technology (IVR), the auto-receptionist does not require human interaction; the caller's options are simply predetermined by the IVR system. The RingCentral auto-receptionist also provides multi-number call forwarding, call screening, voicemail, Internet fax and advanced delivery options, all with excellent sound quality.

Performing many of the same tasks as a receptionist, the RingCentral auto-receptionist can provide different greetings to be assigned to a main number and multiple extensions. Professional greetings are available (custom greetings can be recorded).

How are minutes used and how much do they cost?
Billing is in thirty second increments, rounded to the nearest half minute for each minute of usage. (A fax uses about one minute per page.) For example, if your prospective customer is on the phone for 1.47 minutes, they will be billed for 1.5 minutes. RingCentral does not double bill for domestic forwarded calls. Can I use my current phone number with RingCentral service?
Yes. You can transfer (port) your existing number for free and have it forward to your new RingCentral number.

How long does RingCentral service take to activate?
Account and phone number are activated immediately upon signup. With a free trial, you receive 60 minutes to use as you wish.

Do I need a phone line or special equipment to make this work?
RingCentral service is a complete stand-alone system. No additional telephone lines or special equipment are required to retrieve voicemail and faxes. Messages can be received through your PC and played directly through your computer’s speakers. No additional local or long-distance telephone features or hardware are required.

To answer incoming calls, all that is needed is an existing phone line—mobile, home or office—that is capable of receiving calls. Incoming calls can also be answered through PC with the RingCentral Call Controller.

Can I upgrade to a different service level or change my billing plan at any time?
Yes. You can switch service levels at any time directly through an online account. Existing payments (if any) will be prorated.

What is included in the free trial?
The standard free trial is 7-days; however, we do have special banners and text links coded for 30-days. You receive 60 free minutes to use during the free trial. All RingCentral standard features can be used during the trial.

What is Internet fax?
Included with RingCentral Online service at no additional charge and available for all extensions and users, Internet fax enables you to send and receive faxes through email, Microsoft Office…even smart phone. Additionally, all faxes are processed by RingCentral via the Internet so callers never get a busy signal and there is no wait for fax transmissions.

Can I use RingCentral voicemail with mobile, office and home phones?
Yes. You can setup a single voicemail mailbox for all your phones.

Can I record my own greetings?
Yes. You can record greetings by phone or PC, import professionally recorded greetings or use the RingCentral library of default system greetings.

What kind of commitment do I have to make?
No commitment is required. You can pay as they go (month-to-month) and cancel at any time, without penalties or cancellation fees.

Am I charged for checking messages?
Online account access for message retrieval, email delivery of voicemail and fax messages and receiving messages via the Call Controller is always free. Minutes are used when you are checking messages or logging in to your account by phone.

Will my credit cards be charged during the free trial?
No. You will not be charged during the free trial. You will be charged if you choose to upgrade to a subscription during the trial or if you do not cancel before the trial period expires. Affiliate payments are made for every lead (free trial) and on the sale (when a customer upgrades to a subscription).
